Having more than a ten billion population India still struggling to bag a medal in Olympics which proves that country is very poor with its athletics..
These 3 reasons has shown a major impact on the Olympic athletes which has made them to give a disappointing performance.
People here in India are actually sport hooked but they are composed just only for few. Only a very few sporting events are succeeded in attracting the fans while other games are just surviving.Now a sport in india has become more as bussiness and less as game.While other countries are busy in preparing huge number of athletes for most awaited great international event so called olympics..but here India is still gathering handfull and hand picked atheletes,,
Appreciation
Atheletes in India lack appreciation, they get appraisal and struck with stardom only after they assure a medal for their country,before that no media gets up their coverage infact they hardly remember atheletes..for example how many of you know about recent sensation Dipa Karmakar, Sakshi Malik, PV Sindu, I bet only few of us are familiar with these personalities.This appreciation too lasts for few months..our olympic unsung heros then later referred as some old memories..
India lacks in providing infrastructure for its athletes they even failed to provide some basic amenities,in India athletes are common people while their officials are vips and even being a second largest populous country in the world the sports budget of India is very less when compared to other tiny nations ...India can stand in the top list once the athletes overcome all the obstacles.But every athlete deserves full support and encouragement from the government and the their fans because participating and competing on such a great platform with most talented international players needs a great Courage which India is very poor at..!!
