Hyderabad is the capital of the southern Indian state of Telangana and dejure capital of Andhra Pradesh.Occupying 650 square kilometres (250 sq mi) along the banks of the Musi River, it has a population of about 6.7 million and a metropolitan population of about 7.75 million, making it the fourth most populous city and sixth most populous urban agglomeration in India.
   
 Hyderabad was the World's third best city to visit in 2013, according to Lonely Planet. In 2011 the city was ranked nineteenth in the world by The New York Times in The list of 41 Places to Go in 2011, the only Indian City in the list.Hyderabad is known as the City of Pearls, due to the presence of pearls trading industry until the 18th century the city was the only global trade center of large diamonds.Telangana has a significant amount of Software export in India. While the majority of the Industry is concentrated in Hyderabad.

 IT Industry
 Hyderabad's IT exports exceeded $7 billion in 2014.There have been extensive investments in digital infrastructure.Hyderabad is among the global centres of information technology for which it is known as Cyberabad (Cyber City).The city's IT sector includes the IT-enabled services, business process outsourcing,
entertainment industries,and Financial services.During 2008–09, Hyderabad's IT exports reached US$ 4.7 billion,and 22% of the NASSCOM's total membership is from Hyderabad.The development of a township with related technological infrastructure called HITEC City prompted global and particularly US—based companies to establish their operations in Hyderabad.The Deloitte, Franklin Templeton Investments, GE Capital, Accenture, HSBC, Bank of America, ABN Amro, S&P Capital IQ, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Capgemini, Genpact are some of the financial services companies with offices in the city.

 The major multinational IT firms located in Hyderabad are Microsoft (the largest R&D campus outside the US), Google, Thoughtworks, CA Technologies, Amazon.com, IBM, Motorola, Samsung, Agilent, Automatic Data Processing, Oracle Corporation, Yahoo!, Dell, Texas Instruments, Hewlett-Packard, Virtusa, Kewill, Facebook and others.The major Indian firms with development centres in the city are Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Polaris, 
and others.

The main areas where such IT and ITeS campuses have been set up are Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur and Uppal. Public and private schools in Hyderabad are governed by the Central Board of Secondary Education and follow a "10+2+3" plan.Hyderabad is also home to a number of centres specialising in particular fields such as biomedical sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals,such as the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) and National Institute of Nutrition (NIN).Hyderabad has five major medical schools—Osmania Medical College, Gandhi Medical College,
Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Deccan College of Medical Sciences and Shadan Institute of Medical Sciences—and many affiliated teaching hospitals.
   
 Education
  Technical and engineering schools include the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH), Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Hyderabad (BITS Hyderabad) and Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H) as well as agricultural engineering institutes such as the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and the Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University.

These include Hyderabad's Charminar.This imposing gateway lies in the heart of Hyderabad’s Old City, and is now the city’s best-known symbol.The oldest mosque Mecca Masjid; as well as beautifully-designed temples such as Birla Mandir and Jagannath Temple, which have been built in the last few decades. If the temple of Balaji or 'Visa God' in Chilkur is believed to have the power to get foreign visas approved, the peaceful Moula Ali Dargah is said to contain the imprint of the religious figure Ali. These spots are perfect for spiritually-inclined travellers, as well visitors looking for insights into the city's multi-cultural ethos and history.

Hussain sagar lake-situated between Hyderabad and Secunderabad, this large lake is one of the city’s most picturesque sights.

 Necklace road-A drive along this long boulevard, popularly known as Necklace road, is a great way to unwind in an otherwise hectic metropolis. Salar Jung Museum-This sprawling museum houses a large collection of 35,000 treasures amassed by Salar Jung III, the wazir of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan.It has also got many more sacred places like Falaknuma palace,Purani Haveli,Jagannath temple.As the capital of one of the richest princely states in pre-independence Hyderabad offers a myriad of cultural experiences for every kind of traveller.

Air traffic was previously handled via Begumpet Airport, but this was replaced by Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA)in 2008,with the capacity of handling 12 million passengers and 100,000 tonnes of cargo per annum.
